1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MaraPals ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What MaraPals Is

MaraPals is a platform that connects runners who want to share accommodation and travel plans for races. We provide tools for finding and coordinating with other runners ("pods"), but we are not a travel agency, booking service, or accommodation provider. Any arrangements made between users, including accommodation bookings, cost sharing, and travel plans, are entirely between those users.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use MaraPals. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may not impersonate another person or create accounts on behalf of others.
• You may not create more than one account per person.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Spam or send unsolicited messages
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service to solicit financial arrangements outside of legitimate cost-sharing for travel and accommodation

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post (profile information, pod descriptions, messages). By posting content on MaraPals, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and store it as necessary to operate the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post.

7. No Guarantee of Matches or Safety

MaraPals does not conduct background checks on users. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any user-provided information. Meeting people from the internet always carries risk, please use good judgment, tell someone where you're going, and take precautions when meeting pod members in person for the first time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MaraPals is not liable for any disputes, losses, injuries, or damages arising from arrangements made between users, including accommodation, travel, or financial agreements. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your access to the Service ends, though some data may be retained as required by law or legitimate business purposes.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of applicable jurisdiction.
